Hollis Fickett- Owner
Hollis grew up in Cherryfield, ME and has the fondest childhood memories of playing baseball during the summer and basketball in the winter months. He later attended Narraguagus High School in Harrington, ME where he was part of the Varsity Basketball team, took part in cross country and even ran the NY City Marathon. After high school, Hollis attended The University of Maine and took up long distance running. Dedicated to running, he continued to run numerous marathons throughout his college career. After college he owned and operated a seasonal restaurant in Eastern Maine. In 1983 he decided to become a third generation worker for the family owned business, JC Milliken Agency. For 11 years Hollis took on many positions at JC Milliken until in 1994 he came to land his current role as the president. He enjoys the automation side of running the business and keeping his company in the forefront. He loves to figure out new strategies in marketing especially now considering the countries current economic challenges. On a personal side, Hollis is married with two grown boys and loves spending time with his family, watching movies, and he loves animals.
Wanda, A Husson College graduate, obtained her insurance license in 1993 and has worked for JC Milliken Agency since 1994. She has an ASCR designation in both personal and commercial lines. Wanda resides down east with her husband, Ronald. She enjoys being “Nammie” to their 4 grandchildren. Her Hobbies include working in the children’s program at her church, reading, and scrapbooking.
Gene began his career as a teacher at the Mount Desert Elementary School in the Northeast Harbor in 1973. In 1982 he entered the insurance business. He holds the insurance industry’s professional designations of Accredited Advisor Insurance, AAI and Charter Property & Casualty Underwriter [CPCU] from the Insurance of America. Gene has been with JC Milliken Agency since 1990 and over the years has handled both personal and business insurance for our agency’s clients. When he is not here hard at work he is usually enjoying a round of golf or the energy of his six grandchildren.
Cindy joined JC Milliken Agency in June of 2002 and enjoys providing excellent service to our business clientele and their insurance needs. After graduating from Beal College in Bangor she started a small business with her husband and began to raise her family. Cindy and her husband have a passion for custom cars and street rods. They enjoy traveling throughout New England and Canadian Provinces. Cindy also enjoys reading, scrapbooking and time with friends and family, especially her precious grandchildren.
Melissa began her career in the insurance industry in 1989 at a small agency on Mount Desert Island where she was born and raised. Prior to starting with JC Milliken back in 1991, she had spent a brief time working at Independent Insurance Agents of Rhode Island and the Dunlap Corporation in Bangor. Melissa is both a licensed agent working in the Commercial Lines Department as well as handling the agency’s daily accounting. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and their daughter.
Sally has been a licensed agent since 2008 and is a Commercial Lines Producer. Her favorite part about her job is the building of relationships with her clients. She also enjoys assisting all the clients in the office with their needs. She enjoys outdoor activities with her boyfriend and their two daughters.
Peter Gavett has been a licensed life and health agent in the State of Maine since 1982. Peter specializes in helping individuals and families with their insurance needs; primarily with their life and long term care insurance. In his spare time, he enjoys time running, biking, but mostly his time spent on the golf course.
Kelli is the personal lines agent, has been with the agency since 1992 and licensed since 1993. She has an Accredited Customer Service Representative [ACSR] designation in both personal and commercial lines. Kelli is active in the youth ministry in her church and enjoys kayaking and photography. She resides in the Ellsworth area with her husband and two sons.
Amanda grew up locally, graduating from MDI High School and UMO with a degree in elementary education. . Amanda has been with JC Miliken Agency since 1997 and holds both ASCR and AAI designations. She, her husband and her two children still reside locally in Hancock County. Amanda is active with the PTC and Sports Boosters at her children’s school. She enjoys gardening , hiking and watching Patriots Football.
LeAnne has worked in the insurance industry for the past 10 years and obtained her license in July of 2003. She has a strong background in customer service and enjoys meeting new people. LeAnne came to JC Milliken Agency in January of 2008. Since then she has taken the opportunities provided her and has established a strong clientele. LeAnne enjoys an active lifestyle which includes working out at the gym and taking her family running. She resides in Hancock County with her husband, son and the families beloved Chocolate Lab.
Layne graduated from Husson University with a degree in Business Administration. She began her career in the insurance industry right after graduation in 2004. She takes pride in providing her clients with friendly service and insurance coverage that meets their individual needs.
Lauri has been a licensed insurance agent and customer service representative for over 15 years. She graduated from Ellsworth High School and attended the University of Maine at Macinas where she received her Associates degree in Accounting and her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. Lauri spends her time away from work with her family, which include her husband, two daughters, one dog and one cat. They reside in Hancock County.
Wendy moved to Hancock County with her husband and two children in 2004. She started working for the Dunlap Corporation in their Portland office in 1996 as an assistant to Workers Comp. Adjusters. Soon after, she moved to Dunlap HRH offices in Gray as an Employee Benefits Account Specialist for the Maine State Bar Association Insurance Programs. Wendy has been with JC Milliken Agency since 2007. She enjoys being with her family, hiking, biking and regular exercise.
